The urban landscapes painted by Li Abbiati are characterised by a strong irrational component.
The works are both displayed and projected while the sophisticated experimental electronic music by Figli di
Diapa adds a further layer to the visual aspect.
The skyscrapers are depicted, with fragmented vertical lines, as rectangular modules, which tease the idea
of rational shapes, creating impossible structures both attracting and repelling one another.
Video adds a further point of view, namely a gliding viewpoint from above, over these urban spaces,
discovering a new perspective.
In a landscape made of right-angles and outstretched parallel lines, the only curves which remind one of
nature are those of clouds, that, from above, hint at an alternative path, where the irrational becomes an
imaginative possibility for change.
The tension, which results from the sounds, the alienating environment and the unexpected playful elements,
augments the experience of fragmentation of planes and escape from reality.
