My art can appear ornamental but the themes run deep. Life experiences, modern art, and historical narratives strongly influence how works begin. As I work, I tell my stories intuitively and in layers, avoiding straight lines, often rejecting symmetry, and in chronological order. I seek to represent without imitating through a personal and complex symbolism comprised of color, text, form, line, and edge.
