Louisa Löwenstein

Born in Haiti and raised in Germany, I lost my heart to Berlin—this is where I live and work during the week. In the heart of the city, at my studio on Kastanienallee, I work on various painting formats—primarily on paper using a custom blend of gouache and linseed oil. Weekends belong to the countryside and nature; at our farm in Brandenburg—nestled between a lake and the forest—I channel my creativity into construction and architecture.

My workshop in Pankow is where I create the luminous glass sculptures I have been working on since 2023.

Photography and writing have accompanied me since my youth and across the globe; they have long been my creative home. In 2021, following a major personal shift, I began painting, thereby adding a vital piece to the puzzle of my life.

Each form of creative expression moves in cycles, occupying varying amounts of space in my life at any given time. Each stands on its own, yet they all intertwine.

Originally, I am a trained scholar of Islamic and Jewish studies and a screenwriter. Alongside my artistic endeavors, I work as an entrepreneur and strategy consultant, designing spaces and architectural concepts—both for our beloved retreat in Brandenburg and for other clients.
