My name is Luis Sanchez, I was born in Mexico City, but I have lived in the United States since I was ten years old.
I have been a fine art self-employed living fine art painter and sculptor for the past twenty-six years.
My father was an amazing artist, and I certainly inherited his talent and I've always known I was going to be an artist. I was blessed to have them enroll me in art school since the young age of seven years old.
They supported and encouraged my life dream.
I feel very fortunate. I am also a muralist for the City of Los Angeles creating public art murals, DOT boxes and I have worked on many residential and commercial commissions.
I attended Cornish College of The Arts in Seattle, WA and the Academy of Realist Art, Seattle, WA.
Unfortunately I was diagnosed with stage 4 renal failure in 1989 and was forced to drop out of school to go on dialysis and await a kidney transplant, which I received in August of 1993. Despite all my medial health issues, I have remained positive, optimistic and my discipline and drive propelled my art career in 1997 when I started a company L.S. Design in 1997 creating hand-painted botanical fresco plaques that sold to over 120 stores in the US and Canada. I sold the business in 2001 and moved to Los Angeles to pursue my fine art career full time. In 2006 I lost my first transplant and back on dialysis another four years awaiting my second kidney transplant which I received in 2011. Buts somehow, I have continued to support myself and persevere these medical obstacle, which in turn have only fueled my life and career, not taking a single day for granted and making the most of my life and career.
