Lydia van der Meer’s photography reflects her curiosity about and interest in people, their surroundings and their situation.
After almost 30 years of taking pictures for international media at the highest professional level, capturing the right moment is still her motivation, perhaps more than ever as she returns increasingly to the simplicity of the portrait.

Lydia worked for more than a decade for the Financial Times in London and her photographs have been published worldwide in daily newspapers and magazines. She is now in demand for private and commercial portrait commissions.
