Lynda Peterson

My paintings are an expression of visual and sensory impressions of the world around me. I invite the viewer to experience my emotion and response to the natural world with dramatic color and a careful use of light.

To add depth to this visual experience, I tap into my personal connection to texture, both tactile and visual. This offers the viewer a further connection to my work beyond the literal expression.
My purpose is to bring the viewer to a quiet place within through suggesting a scene from the natural world. By leaving the work loose and impressionistic, I allow viewers to put more of themselves into the work and thus experience it more fully.
My abstract work is about self discovery and the circuitous route our road to self realization may take, along with the barriers we may face.
