Vyacheslav Lui-Ko

I was born in Murmansk, Russia in 1963. Now live in Almaty, Kazakhstan. Married with two sons.
Painting is my way of existence, a means to understand life, human being, faith, religion, history, a way to search answers to eternal questions raised by philosophers, poets and artists many centuries ago. The world since then has changed a lot technologically, but people still fight, build, destroy and build again, they love and hate, betray and self-sacrifice.
My artworks are addressed to those who seek a story, a thought, an idea in an artwork, for those able to stop and reflect.

Graduated with a degree in Fine Arts from Kazakh Pedagogical Institute in 1985.

Since 1987 - participated in international and national exhibitions, more than 20 of them were personal.
1990-1991 - Contemporary Free Art Foundation, exhibitions St. Petersburg, Moscow, Munich.
1991 - Cooperation with gallery "Anna", St. Petersburg;
1992 - Personal exhibition in Gallery "Mednies", Kaliningrad;
1995 - cooperation with ISTEC Foundation, Istanbul,
Turkey;
1996 - International exhibition Art Manege 96, Moscow, Russia;
2005 - Agora Gallery, New York 2005;
2018 - Beijing Art Biennale
2018 - Solo Exhibition in a State Museum of Arts
Laureate of the National Independent Prize of Kazakhstan Patrons’ Club "Tarlan" (2006).
2019 - Laureate of the Eurasian Award.
Painting and graphic works reside in private collections in Kazakhstan and internationally.
