Magdalena Nowatkowska, born in 1982, is a graduate of the Institute of Design in Koszalin, with a Master of Arts degree.
She has many years of experience as an illustrator, graphic designer, and designer of interiors, fashion, and home accessories.
Over the years, through experimentation and observation of the world, she simplifies the complex in her paintings.
She works simultaneously in several series, tackling difficult, existential themes by presenting them in a simplified, refined, straightforward painterly form.
The first series that emerged at the beginning of the pandemic is titled "Distance".
It is a series of paintings about emotions, interpersonal interactions, energy, fear, and reactions to incomprehensible, foreign, contradictory messages and their influence on human behavior. It's a series about people. Graphically simplified, geometric forms seem to interact with each other. They isolate, levitate and colonize in small or larger groups. It's an analysis of interpersonal vibrations in various contexts, spaces, and circumstances.
