Magdalena Szata

I am a Warsaw-based contemporary artist working in linocut printmaking, pen-and-ink drawing, and black-and-white analogue photography. My practice focuses on transformation, introspection, and the connection between the visible and unseen.

I create detailed monochrome artworks using traditional printmaking and drawing techniques, with a strong emphasis on line, texture, and contrast. My work is inspired by nature, travel, and organic patterns, often combining abstract and surreal elements to explore emotion, balance, and personal growth.

Through linocut prints and ink drawings, I develop structured, highly detailed compositions that evoke atmosphere and depth. My analogue photography complements this approach, focusing on light, shadow, and texture in black and white.

My work is process-driven and rooted in slow, mindful creation, inviting viewers to pause, reflect, and connect with deeper layers of experience.

I am a self-taught artist with formal training in Graphic Arts from the Open Academy of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw.

My background includes early participation in exhibitions and art competitions, as well as professional experience in business strategy and design thinking. This combination informs my structured yet intuitive approach to visual art.

I continue to develop my practice through ongoing experimentation in printmaking, drawing, and analogue photography.
