Magda Reshka

Magda RESHKA is a Polish artist living and working in Łódź. She spent several years studying fashion design, co-organizing design fairs, designing leather bags and accessories, and working in advertising. Ultimately, however, painting became her vocation. In her work, RESHKA explores traditional artistic themes—such as portraits and still lifes—blending a fascination with street art with a poetic, grunge sensibility. She paints quickly and instinctively, without preliminary sketches. Her focus lies on color, texture, and the processes of layering, smearing, and scraping away paint. She embraces raw gestures, errors, and imperfections. Her paintings—including series such as *BAD BOYS* and *GRUNGE FLOWERS*—balance between abstraction and figuration, rawness and romanticism, and the external world and personal emotion.
