Didier Le Maghien

Didier “Le maghien” is a Belgian artist.
He studied drawing and painting at the Academy of Fine Arts of Binche (BE), and then joined the Academy of Fine Arts of Charleroi(BE) where he specialized in doing nudes.
The artist is known for his Maghiens, his naked characters with big bellies and tucked up noses.
It was in 1999 that the artist discovered these funny characters that made him soon forget all his other expressionist creations. It is with these new “friends” that he will chart his course.
He stopped painting choosing for the 3D in 2005. He realised sculptures in polyester, then in acrylic resin “Corten steel effect for outside” and in bronze.
If one word could sum up his current work, it would be “happiness,” as incarnated by his Maghians.

His creations are present in private collections in many countries.
The renowned artist, he is regulaly invited to participate in radio shows or tv programmes.
