Mahroo Bagheri

Mahroo Bagheri is an Iranian-born, U.S.–based artist working primarily in oil painting, portraiture, and conceptual realism.

Her practice began with traditional still life, where she developed a strong sensitivity to light, detail, and form. Over time, her work has evolved toward more conceptual and emotionally driven narratives, exploring themes of memory, identity, and the inner life of her subjects.

Through her paintings, Mahroo creates quiet, introspective moments that balance technical precision with emotional depth. Her work often captures figures in suspended states—between presence and absence, thought and silence—inviting viewers to engage with their own interpretations.

Alongside oil painting, she works with pencil to develop studies that inform her larger compositions.
