Maija Ahlholm

My father constantly drew people around him and towards the end of his life icons so this has inspired me to paint people and portraits. My work often expresses a certain simplification to tempt to go beyond the solely exterior aspect of a person. The style is figurative and a bit expressionistic and there are sometimes graffiti and street art influences in my work. The techniques are drawing, engraving, painting, sculpture and photography.
