I was born in 1970 in Tarnów, the southern part of Poland. I am the holder of the title Artiste FIAP (the International Federation of Photographic Art) and I won numerous prizes. I took part in over 40 individual and group exhibitions in Poland and abroad.
In my images you can find some inspirations from paintings of Chirico, Sironi, Beksiński, and also Bergman's films. There is the remnant of fascination with mathematics and geometry in the way I build my photomontages.
I have always had some contact with the camera but photography became my passion at the time of buying a first digital camera in 2005. I began with nature photography and later, landscapes. When I improved my skills, I dared to create more personal works, pictures on the boundary of photography and graphics.
While taking photo I try as much as I can to filter the reality to get on the photograph the least reflection of the object and more of my vision.
Even in my landscape photographs I try to create a space for possibility to look at ordinary things in a slightly different way. There is somehow a mystery, in the contact of the beauty of geometric forms and the reality of the landscape.
Concepts of photomontages are formed above a sheet of paper. It begins from almost finished vision of the picture, then I fill the sheet with lines, which then become the edges of the blocks and the borders of light and shadow. Then I collect photographic material. I photograph models made of paper, clay or bricks, I also use fragments of someone else constructions - I take photo of parts of a plaster, rusty metal sheet, structural elements of buildings. At the end, I compose several dozens of them into a picture on the computer, and introduce a little reality into the world of solids. In the photomontages aesthetics is not the most important. Their hero is always a man and his emotions, and the composition is intended to build an atmosphere that would help to their reading.
People in these worlds are lonely. Some are trapped helplessly with their dreams and memories between inhospitable walls, while others are searching, not fully aware of where their life will take them. Every picture tells its own story, which we can read for ourselves while looking for clues in our imagination and experience.
