I'm just a regular, blue collar guy, from southeastern CT. I have a formal education in both business and the medical field, though I am a steel worker by trade. I began photography as simply a hobby, but quickly learned it was something I could become good at. I have been learning and practicing photography for over 10 years now. It has become my passion.
My fine art images do not tell a story. They have no deep meaning. My goal, with every image, is to capture beauty. I make art by combining two of my loves... black and white photography and nude bodies. My interest in art started as a 19 year old college student, modeling for figure drawing classes. There, I discovered how effectively monochromatic formats can create a three-dimensional feel. My photography is now an extension of what I’ve learned through working with other artists. I have studied, and now apply, basic principles of light wave theory to emphasize highlights and shadows on my subjects, which help to bring them to life. I have always made art for one reason; to create something I think is beautiful. I would love to have the world experience the beauty I see.
I have learned photography by every means except formal education. I've learned from books, videos, online tutorials, fellow photographers, and years and years of practice and experimentation.
I have only shown my work in local art shows and have received very positive feedback. Through the nudging of others, I am now offering my work on a much larger scale.
