Mariana Marra

I am a visual artist. I Live in Uruguay, South America.
I entered the Faculty of Architecture and studied for 2 years, then I studied graphic design and worked for many years in advertising when illustration was a fundamental tool since the computer was not yet used in this field.
At the same time, I entered the National School of Fine Arts.
Over the years I have attended several private drawing and painting workshops, applying various techniques such as watercolor, oil and collage.
I am interested in investigating and experimenting with color and form.
I have been studying Art History for a long time since I consider research essential for artistic practice.
In recent years I have been attending courses at the Contemporary Art Foundation of Montevideo, which has enabled me to open new perspectives regarding art as a means of expressing and disseminating new knowledge that allows us to reflect and project ourselves towards the future as a society.
In this sense, my individual exhibition “A study of the Anthropocene”, which is currently exhibited at the Macció Theater in San José, proposes a reflection on the current cultural horizon to analyze ourselves as a society and be aware of how we can improve.

I studied at the Faculty of Architecture and the National School of Fine Arts. I studied graphic design.

I have been studying art history for 15 years and contemporary art at the Contemporary Art Foundation of Montevideo for 2 years.

I have made several collective exhibitions in the Medical Union of Uruguay, House of Culture "Dr. Fernández Crespo" and "Libertad art house".
In 2019 individual exhibition "100 years of Bar Tabaré" at Café and Bar Tabaré.
In 2022 individual exhibition "A study of the Anthropocene" at the Macció Theater in San José, Carbajal room.
In 2020 Mention "100 years of the SMU" for the painting "The visit".
