Mariana Scanholato

Mariana Scanholato (M.S.) is a Brazilian visual artist currently based in Lombardy, Italy. Working primarily with acrylic paint and heavy, sculptural textures on large-scale canvases, her practice bridges the gap between raw expressionism and contemporary figuration.
​Her artistic language centers on the depth of the female form, utilizing structured lines, rich tactile surfaces, and a quiet, deeply symbolic vocabulary to discuss resilience, memory, and time. Rejecting flat backdrops, she treats the canvas as a physical space of archaeological layerings, where thick coats of paint and deep textures are applied to give physical weight to intangible emotions.
​Now creating from her studio in northern Italy, Mariana continues to develop her unique visual poetry, offering international collectors an intense, tactile experience that transforms ancestral narratives into powerful contemporary art.
