Marianna Spektor

Working under the moniker SpektralMuse, an extension of her own name and artistic identity, Marianna Spektor is a SF Bay Area–based mixed-media artist whose work moves between figuration and abstraction.

Marianna received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in San Francisco and works across acrylic, collage, pastel, charcoal, graphite, and other mixed media. Her practice is characterized by layered surfaces, expressive mark-making, texture, and a balance between deliberate composition and intuitive process.

Drawing from the human form, nature, memory, and observation, she explores the space between what is immediately recognizable and what remains unresolved. Figures may emerge from layered surfaces, while in her abstract work, human or organic presence is often suggested through fragments, gestures, and traces.

Her recent work reflects an increasing interest in materiality and the relationship between figuration and abstraction, allowing texture, erasure, layering, and spontaneous marks to become part of the visual language of each piece.
