Maria Shanina is a multidisciplinary artist working in textile art, installation, and mixed media. Working primarily with silk, she creates delicate contemporary textile compositions that carry deep symbolic and conceptual meaning, reflecting on broad social themes.
Her practice is rooted in research-based exploration and material experimentation. Many of her wall-based pieces are created using repurposed materials from large-scale installations, forming a zero-waste, circular practice. Through restrained abstraction and subtle shifts in color, texture, and light, she invites quiet reflection and emotional presence.
Open to commissions, partnerships and collaborations to support her material research and experimentation.
