Mariateresa Mastrorillo

Mariateresa Mastrorillo is a south italian visual artist, apulian based. Her research investigates painting as an autonomous organism.
The canvas becomes a living simulacrum — a presence that resists, responds, and evolves beyond the artist’s control.
Within this space, the unconscious and the supraconscious take form, revealing a territory where the subterranean converges with the ancestral and the collective.
Spirituality is not a theme but a structural condition of her work: an embodied tension between matter and transcendence.

After graduating from an Art High School in Italy, she continued her formation through independent research and extensive travels across Europe.

Her practice is informed by sustained dialogue with ancient art traditions as well as contemporary visual languages, weaving historical memory into present-day experimentation.
