Marie Davidsson

I was born and raised on the Swedish west coast where the sea and the salt-sprayed winds were a part of me. After my education as a social worker, I ended up among forests and lakes, but my longing for the open expanses is expressed in my art.
I have always had a need to express myself creatively. In recent years, I have mainly done it through my painting in watercolor. I love how the mixture of water and color pigments unites. It is only when it dries that you see the result.
The motifs vary depending on what inspires me, but I often return to painting water in different forms. I want to convey a feeling of calm, freedom and space in my paintings

I am self-taught but have attended workshops with artists to develop my art and my techniques.
