Mariko Kuzumi

I am a New York City–based printmaker and visual artist originally from Tokyo, Japan.
My multidisciplinary practice spans etching, collage, 3-dimensional objects and picture books.
I aspire to craft imagery that captures the essence of everyday experiences stirring my curiosity and resonates with my soul.
I seek to revisit and re-evaluate materials, subject matter, mediums, and the playful activities of my childhood. A series of my works employs familiar animals as motifs, embracing their whimsical charm.
My hope is to communicate with my audience and that my work will evoke memories of cherished moments in each viewer's unique life narrative.
