Marilyn Green

Born in London, UK. Studied at the London Metropolitan University, Fine Art, Art History, Design and Interior Design. Travelled 3 years in Asia, Indonesia, Papua-New Guinea, Australia, New Zealand and South America. Lives and works in Berlin.
Painting is for me a language. A way without words to express movement, dynamic, stillness, space, depth and atmosphere. I use colour to create form and from these abstract ideas I form space and depth creating abstractions, landscapes or ideas inspired from from my visual experiences and nature. I like to experiment while working making every painting unique. There are variations to themes, ideas, abstractions, but I allow myself the freedom of avoiding repetition and let my paintings develope as I work. Through abstraction I hope that a dialogue can be created between the viewer and the art work giving space for different interpretations from personal experiences, imagination or past memories.

I studied at the London Metropolitan University, Fine Art, Art History, Design and Interior Design. Later Fine Art at the University of Art, Berlin. Scholarship Friedrich-Naumann-Foundation. Graduated M.A. University of Art, Berlin. 1994-2003 Artist Promotion from the Cultural Senate Berlin. 2002-08 Lectured in Colour Theory and Drawing in Perspective. 2017-20 Lectured in Design at the HTK Academy for Design in Berlin. International Group and Solo Exhibitions in Berlin and Germany, London, UK, New York, NJ, Dallas, USA, France, Turkey, Brazil and Israel. Various exhibitions in museums in Berlin, Bonn, New Jersey, USA, Brazil, (14.Internationale Bienniale Brasilien, Museum MESC, S.C. Brazil). My works are presented at Art Fairs, annually Gallery Weekend, Berlin. Also in Rendsburg and Nürnberg in Germany. Dallas, USA. Also at Cultural Centers in Berlin, Potsdam, Düsseldorf, Detmold, Istanbul and Ankara, Turkey, Korea and New York and New Jersey, USA. My paintings are in numerous private and public collections in Berlin, Germany, London, New Jersey, New York, USA and Brazil.
