Marion Cross

I was born in Germany and raised in South Africa. I live in Cape Town and this is also the place where much of my inspiration comes from. The floral abundance as well as the sea, landscape with its magnificent mountains, cityscapes, the list of inspiration is endless and I often take on different challenges all in one go! Inspiration also comes from travelling and meeting new people, having a look at art in beautiful museum and galleries and participating in inspirational workshops

I have a Fine Art degree from UNISA in South Africa and also a postgrad diploma in painting from Wits University in Johannesburg. In order to keep abreast with 'what is going on', in the current artworld 'out there', I treat myself to travels around the world, studying that which interests me at the time, all art related. As I enjoy painting in any medium, from oil to acrylic to watercolour and mixed media, I am always finding new and exciting projects to get involved in.

I am the owner of 'MARION'S GALLERY' in the coastal town of Hermanus, about 120 kilometres from Cape Town, here I display my work. I have had a number of solo exhibitions and many group shows in and around Cape Town. I have sold to wonderful clients all over the world and it is an honour for me to have a part of my vision in loving homes all over the world.
