Mariam Tepnadze

Mariam Tepnadze (b. 1998, Tbilisi) is a multidisciplinary artist working across painting, jewelry, and sculpture. Formally trained in Jewelry Design and Metalsmithing, she holds both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from the Tbilisi State Academy of Arts, where she developed a strong sensitivity to material, texture, and form.

Her practice moves between the physical and the emotional, often described as magical realism. Tepnadze creates symbolic, dreamlike compositions where organic forms, figures, and imagined landscapes coexist. Her works explore themes of transformation, vulnerability, and inner tension—balancing softness with strength, stillness with movement.

Influenced by her background in metal, her paintings often incorporate a sculptural quality, with layered surfaces and tactile details that blur the boundary between image and object. Through this interplay of mediums, she constructs intimate visual narratives that feel both personal and otherworldly.

Formally trained in Jewelry Design and Metalsmithing, I hold both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from Tbilisi State Academy of Arts, where I developed a strong foundation in material exploration and craftsmanship.

2023–2025 — Participated in multiple group exhibitions at established art venues in Tbilisi, including National Library of Georgia, Silk Factory Studio and the Georgian Museum of Fine Arts.
