Yolanda Marsolais

Born in Canada, I lived in Costa Rica for 16 years and am now back in my native country trying to work it out during these crazy times. I've always painted. Until only about 10 years ago have I become a professional artist. I like to paint landscapes, often trees and forest. I am inspired by nature, trees, light, and mood. As I move into a more expressionistic style, I am allowing my work to become more abstract by experimenting with mediums, shapes, brushstrokes and colour to evoke or capture the feeling I get in an actual scene.

I also work in stained glass, creating and restoring works for residential and public architectural integration.

Although, I've studied art and painting formally throughout the years, I am a mostly self-taught painter and I have learned by experimentation and observing the techniques of other artists that I like.
