Marta Stoyanova

Originally from Bulgaria, I have spent the last 20 years living and working in London, UK.
My work is mainly focused on portraiture and
travel photography and I like exploring the
relationship between people and their native environment.

I have recently started work on a floral series of images as a way of reflection on the idea of nature, beauty, life and impermanence. Flowers can be a vehicle helping us experience life beyond the material and a reminder we’re all in a constant process of transformation. Their beauty is captivating and yet it fades away so quickly. We give flowers to loved ones when a new baby is born, to express our love to a special person as well as when we loose someone dear. My photographs are an exploration into the world of flowers and their influence on us.
