Maru Mercado

I was born in Tijuana Baja California, Mexico, the border with San Diego California. Having this multicultural background allowed me to experience the best of both cultures.
As a child I was fascinated with my dad’s career so I decided to study to be an architect just like him; I got my Associates of Fine Arts in Architecture and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design.
Later in life I discovered that painting and drawing is my absolute passion and decided to take it to the next level. In the same year I was very fortunate to be invited by the Mayor of Ensenada Baja California Mexico, Professor Gilberto Hirata, to participate and exhibit my art at el Cabildo de Ensenada in a solo exhibition.
