Maryam Howe

I am a self-taught artist based in England.

Art has always been my passion and manifested in displaying a strong interest in painting from a very young age.

In 2020, I began teaching myself oil painting and created a portfolio of still-life paintings.

Inspired by the identity of femininity, I started to paint my ideas to bring them to life. At this point, my art took on a surrealistic genre. I launched my first series “The Absent Face” in 2021; some of which got nominated for international art competitions, such as the Florence Biennale and the London Art Biennale.

I have found painting a great medium, one that I find extremely gratifying and with the potential to advance my profession as a visual artist.

My Middle Eastern background constantly provides me with inspiration and challenges that soon turn to artistic ideas, reflected in the unique nature of my artwork.
