Matthew Derouin

Matthew Derouin is a musician, author and artist from St. Louis, Missouri. A former student of philosophy, his work explores questions of existence, free will and the search for meaning, introspection and meditation. Many of the subjects of his work are everyday sites or subjects, reimagined or re-contextualized into something extraordinary. Matthew's work draws influence and synthesizes many of the movements of the modern era, such as abstract expressionism, color field painting, cubism, graffiti, pop art and minimalism.
