Matthew Noble

Originally from London, I have also lived, worked and studied in Salisbury, Bath and Nottingham. Settling in Bristol in 2000.
Having worked in Bath and London after Graduation. I continued my practice in Bristol at Jamaica St Studios. Working and participating in group and solo shows both there and in Bath.
During this time I also set up an Interior Decor Business, specialising in the renovation and refurbishment of period properties.
Although at times all consuming and creating somewhat of a hiatus with my fine art practice for many years. These diciplines are no longer mutually exclusive. With the Decor work at times both informing and influencing studio practice.
I first returned to fine art with Silkscreen printing, practicing at Spike Print Studios in Bristol. Then having built myself a studio, returned to mixed media, primarily print, painting & collage.
Current work is concerned with popular culture and ideas around its perceived historical relevance. Referencing architecture, movie artwork and both contemporary and medieval iconography.
