Asheville-based visual artist, Matthew Rentz, has been honing his skills in visual arts for the past several years. Matthew blends his self-taught skills with abstract figures and personal interests, bringing about a dynamic marriage of line, color, and narrative for the viewer.
Matthew’s evolution into oil painting allowed him to introduce another element to this union and extend the range of his talent even further. His use of the drawing technique “blind contour” as an inspiration for paintings allows Matthew to challenge the boundaries of abstract art - utilizing spontaneity with his style to connect to the viewer and expand more ideas.
