Matty Smith

I have always had an attraction to the water and the tricks it plays on light. I bought my first SLR camera in my teens to capture what I loved to see and to shoot the coastlines of my home country of the UK. As my photography skills grew I needed to travel to get the images I imagined, trips to far off countries followed. Now residing in Australia after emigrating from the UK in 2007 I have the worlds biggest playground at my feet, the Pacific Ocean….. I have truly fallen in love with it.

I’ve been lucky enough to have been exhibited and published by a number of organisations in recent years such as The London Natural History Museum, the Louvre in Paris and the Australian Museum, Sydney, National Geographic, National Geographic Traveller, The Discovery Channel, Ocean Geographic, Australian Geographic, GEO Magazine, The Times, The Guardian, The Washington Post, The Australian, The BBC, Channel 7 and the ABC to name a few.
