I am Mava Ra - Color Adventurer. I began working with crayons and rough paper at the end of the last century. Over the years, I have developed a unique approach based on the contrast and harmony of softness and rawness.
Today I create small-format drawings that express emotions clearly and simply, inviting viewers to slow down and feel color almost with their skin. My works combine lyrical abstraction with storytelling through material and texture. I am fascinated by the stories that appear when color meets texture. By observing the dialogue between graininess and softness, I transform simple forms into calm, tactile portals that open colorful worlds.
I offer both original artworks and fine art prints. Each piece reflects my dedication to the poetic interaction of color and texture. My goal is to create experiences that encourage reflection, quiet observation, and a deeper connection with the visual world.
Independent artist, self-developed practice in drawing and color studies since the late 1990s.
Mava Ra has presented her works in over 100 exhibitions across Europe and beyond. Recent shows include Message In RGB & White (Athens, Greece – Budapest, Hungary, 2025), Jump To The Future (Genoa, Italy, 2023), Myth International Illustration Biennale (Haifa, Israel, 2022), and The Good, The Bad & The Ugly (Gallery53, Meriden, Connecticut, USA, 2021). Works by the artist are held in private and museum collections, including Surber’s Museum für Musikautomaten und Phonographen (Keszthely, Hungary) and ANSPI NEOT (Ferentino, Italy).
