Mavileydis Prieto

Mavi P is a Cuban-born, Miami-based contemporary visual artist whose work explores identity, freedom, femininity, self-expression, memory, and personal transformation. Born in Havana, Cuba, and raised in Miami, Florida, her artistic perspective is shaped by the energy, color, culture, and contrasts of both places.

A self-taught artist, Mavi P works primarily with acrylic and oil, incorporating expressive linework, layered color, texture, and experimental techniques. Her compositions often move between figurative and abstract expression, using saturated color, fragmented forms, movement, and symbolism to translate personal experiences and emotions into visual narratives.

Much of her work is autobiographical. Through self-portraiture and symbolic figures, she explores confidence, sensuality, independence, self-love, altered perception, and the freedom of living authentically.

For Mavi P, painting is not simply about documenting what something looks like—it is about capturing what a moment, memory, or experience feels like. Each work becomes a visual record of emotion and a reflection of her evolving personal and artistic journey.
