Macister Rodríguez

Macister Rodríguez (Panama City, 1985) is a contemporary visual artist whose practice is grounded in the exploration of magical realism through painting. His artistic journey began early, in 2000, evolving from a personal interest into rigorous academic training. He is a graduate of the Ganexa Art University, where he earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, thereby solidifying the technical foundations that underpin his current body of work.

Since 2012, Rodríguez has pursued an active artistic practice, primarily using oil paint to capture the interplay between his surroundings and the natural world. His work is characterized by a contemporary aesthetic in which organic elements are transformed through a modern lens. Through his technique, the artist successfully integrates direct observation of reality with the narrative and symbolic possibilities inherent in magical realism.

Macister Rodríguez’s work fosters a dialogue between pictorial tradition and contemporary sensibility, focusing on nature's capacity to evoke unique atmospheres. From 2008 to 2012, she pursued a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts at Ganexa Art University, located in Panama City, Panama Province. During her studies, she developed a strong foundation in artistic techniques, creative expression, and visual communication, preparing her for a professional career in the arts and related creative fields.

In 2015, artist Macister Rodríguez presented his work in Panama City, showcasing a distinctive artistic vision influenced by contemporary culture and regional identity. In 2018, he expanded his international presence with an exhibition in Barcelona, Spain, engaging European audiences through innovative compositions and expressive themes. By 2020, Rodríguez had continued his artistic journey in Italy, where his work demonstrated growing maturity, experimentation, and a sustained commitment to cross-cultural artistic exchange.
