Mehmet Kılıç graduated from the Department of Civil Engineering at Istanbul Technical University in 1992. Since 1993, he has been working in engineering and technical consultancy as a founding partner of AGM Engineering.
After a long professional career in engineering, his interest in human experience, transformation, and the passage of time led him to sculpture. Between 2018 and 2020, he studied sculpture under Turkish sculptor Azimet Karaman. Since 2024, he has continued his artistic practice at VolArt Studio under the mentorship of sculptor Volkan Demir.
Working primarily in figurative and contemporary sculpture, Kılıç explores themes of transformation, memory, human resilience, and the traces left by time. His engineering background influences his artistic language through concepts such as structure, balance, layering, and materiality.
His works often combine figurative forms with abstract interpretations, creating a dialogue between the physical and emotional dimensions of human existence.
