Mia Baila

I was born in New York City and grew up in the Midwest .My Mom, Marietta, gave me my first set of Prang watercolors, and got me started with painting. For that and a lot of other things, I’m forever grateful. My best times have always had something to do with water… either watching it, being on it, or in it. I’ve never had to struggle to find a subject for my art, it was always water in some form. I'd like to get to Nazare in Portugal and paint one of those 100 ft. waves! Right now I’m working on a series of water/wave close ups. For me, being near water, even making a painting of water, gives me a sense of energized calm . My hope and intention is that the people who view my work experience that same feeling.

I attended Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN.

My work has been displayed and sold on major cruise lines and because of this opportunity, I now have collectors worldwide. My recent exhibitions are:
