Miaron Billy is an exceptionally talented award-winning documentary and fine-art photographer based in Nairobi, Kenya.
Born and raised in Loitokitok, he started taking photos on his first camera phone as a hobby back in 2010, it took him studying Software Engineering at Kenyatta University, to realize where his true passion lies. Before he even had a camera, he dazzled many with photos taken on his phone while on a mission in Nigeria. I mean, how cool is that? It was at that time that he made up his mind to be a photographer. With little knowledge but a big ambition and passion, armed with a Nikon D3200, he started his journey into pro photography in 2016.
Photography isn't just an art to Billy, no. It's a passion and a lifestyle.
Even though he is a versatile photographer, his main interest lies in Documentary Photography.
Billy's work has been published globally by organizations such as the World Health Organization (WHO), Itel mobile, Sportpesa, National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF), Africa Population and Health Research Centre (APHRC), KIWO Films, Foxton Media, EFC Italia and many more. For the last 4 years, Billy has been among an elite team of Red Bull photographers, mostly covering Sports Events.
