About Michael Hoar

Working from the Land-scape, Mike Hoar has documented extensively his previous place of residence, Leicestershire. Initially producing small observational paintings on site within the landscape, larger works are created in his studio. This practice he has applied to landscapes/ sky-scape/ urban-scape through-out Spain, Japan and now France.
Analytical and expressionistic drawing, sense of place, vibrancy of colour are but a few words to describe the sometimes abstracted, sometimes representational works created.are created in his studio. Events

Mike Hoar A.R.C.A graduated from the Royal College of Art 1964. He worked as a senior Fine Art lecturer at DeMontfort University until 2003 and now continues his practice as a professional, international Artist from his studio in South-West France. Major Commissions include a set of Sky-scape produced for Heathrow terminal 4, set of large paintings produced for P&0 cruise-liner 'Arcadia'.

Exhibitions

Nationally many galleries through-out the UK and London. Including Morley and Piccadilly Galleries London. Curator / Exhibitor celebrating the D.H.Lawrence Centenary, Nottingham. Scholarship gained to work / paint in the Provence, France. Internationally exhibited through out Europe.
