I am an artist living in New York City. I am particularly passionate about painting the human figure. The figures and scenes in my paintings are familiar to the urban life in which I live. Although some may be beach scenes, they are primarily New York City beaches, with an eclectic mix of diverse people interacting together, yet often very removed from one another. I find the figures that I paint to be engaging and curious, giving an enigmatic quality. It's a slice of life that I find so intriguing about living in this urban environment and that I try to capture in my work.
I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts from St. Lawrence University and continued my arts education in New York City, taking classes at the School of Visual Arts, The Art Students League, the National Academy School of Fine Art as well as with the internationally renown artist, Burton Silverman.
