Michelle Sheppard

Michelle is a Philadelphia based contemporary realist watercolor painter who loves to focus on the details. To her, all the tiny lines and shadows that come together to form something vivid and realistic is immensely satisfying. Combining her love of details with her background in graphic design, Michelle forces the viewer to narrow their focus and see the beauty in things that might have otherwise been overlooked.

“I tend to notice things others don’t, like the interesting texture of a brick wall as weeds force their way through it, or all the colors and shapes found in an old piece of wood. It’s nuance. It’s interesting.”

Michelle studied art and design at Hussian School of Art in Philadelphia and advertising at The Art Institute of Pittsburgh.
