"“Painting these trophy hunters makes me feel alive. The starting point of these fishermen portraits showing their slippery catch, posing for their friends – are images based on amateur pictures found on Spearfishingblogs and communities. My intent is to paint outrageous pietà pictures, some testosteron driven or sexually loaded, some silent and inward-looking.”

The fishermen are the archetypical searching souls, their bravado transcends time and place, they represent our passion, joy, dark dreams and existential fears.
