I paint what I see and it's not always pretty. I create lurid, seductive, sometimes gawky worlds which the viewers can enter at their peril. I am interested in the process by which the practice of dreaming becomes political, in the bite back of unprocessed imagery, in the immaculate deception of pay and display designer consumerism and the brain roof chatter of a society drunk on celebrity, high on hope, addicted to super abundance and the biggest bag of marbles. I paint the antidote. I sleep a lot (it helps me dream) and strive to imbue my work with joy, passion, wit and a knowing crumbiness ubiquitous in contemporary culture.
