Miljana Draskovic

I am a professional visual artist born in 1959, based in Užice, Serbia. My career, spanning 36 years, is rooted in my status as an independent artist, a title I have held since 1999. I am a prominent member of the Association of Fine Artists of Serbia (ULUS) and the Association of Applied Arts Artists and Designers of Serbia (ULUPUDS).

To date, my professional journey is defined by 48 solo exhibitions and participation in over 450 group shows and symposia, complemented by two awards for painting at the Užice Regional Art Salon. I also serve as the host and organizer of the International Art Colony "Užice 2025," a project dedicated to fostering creative exchange.

I have been painting for as long as I can remember, and that might be since I was three years old, when I saw and recognized images of life (clouds, people, treetops, birds...) on the ceiling of my childhood home. Or perhaps they found me and recognized me, while I found artistry in them.

"I can only be a painter in life," were my words in early youth - a decision, and most of all, a calling of the soul. And so, I embarked on a journey that was hard but endlessly beautiful, exciting, and uncertain, without a doubt!
