Miran Kres

I graduated in University of Ljubljana with a thesis on abstract painting. My practice spans painting, graphic art, and installation. Across these media, colour, light, and space—and their psychological impact on the viewer—form the common thread running through my work.
Key highlights include receiving Special Recognition for Graphic Art at the II International Printmaking Exhibition, Istanbul (2006); and exhibiting at the California Institute of Integral Studies Gallery in San Francisco (2008); “Berlin project”, shown at Factory-Art Gallery in Berlin and MOP Gallery in Sydney (2012). In 2013, I conceived the exhibition “Illuminations” at the International Centre of Graphic Arts in Ljubljana. Other notable projects include “Preliminary Design of an Experimental Art-Circling Spaceship”, exhibited at Kunsthaus Essen, Germany (2016); “XYZ 2” at KiBela, Maribor (2019); and “Kosmos” at Hest Gallery, Ljubljana (2025).
