A painter in Provence and in Burgundy, her subject are landscapes between figurative and abstract. Although contemporary, her research follows the tradition of the “Maîtres Provençaux”, Cezanne, Chabaud, de Staël, Matisse, Picasso.

Colorist, she is listening to the harmony of nature, evocating beauty beyond representation – as an architect, she organizes the space by lines of forces and order, inspired by German Expressionists. You will find plein-air aquarelles and drawings from famous sites like Sainte-Victoire or Ménerbes, as well as works on paper or canvas. Preparing the colors herself, using natural colors, pigments, ochres, gives her work a unique tactile character.

Miriam Hartmann was born in Germany, in 1963. Professional painter and art teacher, living and working in France since 2014.

Theological pastoral training. Teaching art at high school and in adult education: art theory, history, and practice. Interdisciplinary projects and performances.


More than forty solo exhibitions and group exhibitions since 1995 in France, Germany, Switzerland, and South Korea.
