Miriam Steinberg

Miriam Steinberg | Dutch | 1975

She started her career in 1998, and for allmost 25 years she has worked as a freelance graphic designer on different types of projects and a variation of clients.

These days, she mainly focuses on her own art, but she still works as a designer. The interaction between these two worlds strengthens her work. Her graphic background is reflected in form and structure. Photographic imagery forms the foundation, landscapes are the subject. She loves to head out with her rooftop tent and immerse herself in the moment, but even the view from her studio in France continues to bring new surprises. The captured moments are developed using a combination of materials and techniques — from concrete to cyanotype — with a particular fascination for epoxy. Currently she reside inbetween
The Netherlands and France where she has a studio.

STATEMENT:
Landscapes are my source of inspiration, I use what nature shows me and create extra depth in what already exists. Creating the type of peace and space in which one wants to retreat with complete surrender.
