Born in Novi Sad, Serbia, Miroslava Raković graduated at the Department of Graphic Design, the Academy of Arts. Since the time of her graduation, she is engaged in painting, digital graphics, illustration and graphic design. Due to her works and achievements, she became a member of the Association of Fine Artists of Vojvodina. In adition to her art, Miroslava has been also teaching for over 16 years. Under her tutelage her students won many awards at international exhibitions and competitions. Her works have been exhibited in Serbia, Portugal, France, Italy, Bulgaria, Switzerland, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Germany, Poland and Republic of Macedonia. She lives and works in Novi Sad. STATEMENT:
My abstract mixed media paintings and digital graphics an exploration into the primal or essential language of nature. Finding the perfect balance between shape, color, surface, and structure is always a challenge and an emotional struggle. The inspiration comes from small artifacts I collect on walks or trips. My approach is process driven, rooted in imagination, emotion, and intuition, revealing a language deeper than words: textures, symbols, shapes, lines, memories and gestures which map a passage through time.
