Mladen Ivanov

Although I have tried my capabilities also in the other genres of a pictorial art, my searches/quests in the area of still-life have been the most serious and the most in-depth ones. May be, it is so because this genre, to the greatest extent, gives me an opportunity to express the idea, which excites me most. And it is the idea about the transience of being, about the ephemerality of human existence. The objects, which have outlived their owners, the antique paintings with their frames, the interiors conveying the atmosphere of past epochs bring to my mind and I suppose also evokes even in most people precisely the thought of transience of being and about its meaning. They make me rethink the values, which we have and the ambitions by which we are guided and the goals, which we pursue. And if antique objects remind us of the transience of being and makes us ask the question about its meaning, then the mysticism-conveying medieval icons, supplemented by objects associated with Worship help us to give one of the possible replies to this classical question.
And this is the spiritual and moral improvement and unity with God.

MLADEN APOSTOLOV IVANOV is born on 8.03.1963

He completed Secondary Special School of Fine Arts “Iliya Petrov”-Sofia in year 1982.

In year 1990 he completed Higher Institute of Fine Arts “Nikolay Pavlovich”-Sofia,
Major “Graphics”.
He has participated in General Arts Exhibitions in Bulgaria since year 1993.He works with galleries in Bulgaria and France such as GALERIE BRETONNIERE MONTMARTRE, GALERIE LA VIGNE MONTMARTRE.
He is a member of the UNION OF BULGARIAN ARTISTS and also of LA MAISON DES ARTISTES FRANCE.
